Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, our representative will be present to greet you and facilitate your transfer to Kigali for a comprehensive briefing regarding your upcoming safari. Depending on the timing of your arrival, you will have the opportunity to embark on a brief city tour, encompassing a visit to the genocide memorial as well as various handicraft shops. Subsequently, you will continue your journey towards Parc des Volcans, where you will be treated to breathtaking vistas of majestic, ancient volcanoes and picturesque, verdant hills. Throughout your stay, meals and accommodation will be provided at the lodge.
In the early hours of the morning, you will be required to proceed to the park headquarters for a comprehensive briefing conducted by the park personnel. Equipped with an ample supply of potable water, a packed lunch, and a walking stick, you will venture into the forest with the objective of locating the renowned mountain gorillas. The trail leading into the forest will instantaneously immerse you in the enigmatic ambiance of the rainforest, which serves as the natural habitat for these majestic creatures. Embarking on an exhilarating gorilla trek across the cultivated foothills of the Virungas may prove to be a challenging and muddy endeavor, yet it promises an exceptional and unforgettable experience. Enveloped by the resonating calls of the gorillas, you will have the opportunity to spend an hour in their presence before commencing your descent back to the base. As you descend, intermittent glimpses of the awe-inspiring peaks, among the highest in Africa, will be visible through the gaps in the forest canopy. Your meals and accommodations will be provided at the lodge.
In the morning after breakfast, you will again go to the park headquarters and later you will head out to the forest in search of the rare golden monkeys. Alternatively, you may opt to visit Dian Fossey's grave or climb one of the famous volcanoes (Visoke or Muhabura). Return to the lodge for your meals and accommodations.
After the morning meal, you will commence your journey back to the capital city of Kigali, relishing the awe-inspiring scenery along the way. Depending on your travel itinerary, you may opt for a concise city tour and partake in a midday repast, prior to proceeding to the airport for your departure.
